The Civil Court has officially begun using the Integrated Case Management System (ICMS), marking a major step in modernising judicial administration.

The system was inaugurated by the President of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Uz Husnee Mubarik.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chief Judge Uza Mariyam Waheeda noted that the Civil Court handles one of the highest volumes of cases in the country. She explained that, until now, administrative work had been managed manually, which posed significant challenges. With case numbers expected to rise, she emphasised that the introduction of ICMS is a crucial step towards strengthening court operations, accelerating case processing, and digitalising documents to make information more accessible.

Reflecting on its impact, Criminal Court Chief Judge Uz Adam Mohamed highlighted that the system has streamlined operations by securely storing all case information in one platform, simplifying document management and trial organisation.

The Civil Court stated that with ICMS, hearing requirements will be significantly simplified, and court services will become faster and more efficient, ensuring justice is delivered more effectively.

The Civil Court is the second court to adopt ICMS, following its introduction at the Criminal Court in August 2025, where it has been in use for five months.
