Land reclamation works at Hulhumalé Phase III have reached 94 per cent completion, with 59 hectares reclaimed so far.

The update was shared by Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), which said reclamation is progressing at a steady pace, with 59 hectares completed out of the planned total of 63 hectares.

Land reclamation for Hulhumalé Phase III commenced in October 2023 but was affected by several temporary stoppages. Works resumed on 10 November 2025 and have since accelerated following the deployment of two large dredgers.

MACL said the remaining reclamation works are expected to be completed next week.

Once reclamation at Hulhumalé Phase III is complete, the Government plans to begin the allocation of land plots in the newly reclaimed area.
