First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated 'Vivid Realism – By Hussain', a solo art exhibition by Maldivian artist Hussain Ali Manik.
The exhibition showcases the work of Hussain, a self-taught and award-winning artist, and features a collection of oil paintings depicting island life, cultural heritage and the natural beauty of the Maldives. Hussain is the founder of the Vivid Realism movement, which presents a visual exploration of Maldivian life, culture, identity, human stories and tradition.
A printed publication titled 'Vivid Realism: My Journey through the Colors of Nature', showcasing Hussain’s work, was also launched at the event.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 23 January to 30 January at the National Art Gallery. Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, except on Fridays, when the exhibition will be open from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Admission to the exhibition is priced at MVR 50, with free entry for students.
