55 metres of quay wall completed under Boduthakurufaanu Magu Project

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has shared an update that the capping concrete works for 55 metres of the quay wall under the second segment of the Malé Northside Boduthakurufaanu Magu Development Project have been completed.
MTCC said preparations are now underway to begin paving the harbour-side sidewalks and install settlement tanks as the project continues to progress according to schedule. The company also confirmed that construction of the land-side wall in the market area has been completed.
The ongoing works is part of a the road development initiative aimed at upgrading a key section of Boduthakurufaanu Magu. Under the project, a 250-metre stretch of road between the local market area and North Harbour is being developed, with the carriageway widened to six metres.
MTCC stated that road construction works will commence following the completion of the remaining structural elements. The upgraded road is expected to improve pedestrian safety and ease congestion in the area. The company added that works under the second segment are scheduled to be completed before the start of Ramadan, after which the road section will be opened to the public.
In total, 1,088 metres of road will be developed from the Henveiru Ferry Terminal to North Harbour under the Boduthakurufaanu Magu Development Project. The first phase of the project, covering 140 metres, has already been completed.
