Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef attended the Men’s Division final and closing ceremony of the Beefaan 2026 Volleyball Tournament in GDh. Fiyoaree.
He was welcomed at the Fiyoaree Volleyball Court on Friday evening by Faizar Rasheed, President of the Fiyoaree Council, and Hussain Fayaz, President of the Fiyoaree Association for Community Empowerment (FACE).
Speaking ahead of the match, the Vice President underscored the importance of the tournament in strengthening community bonds and fostering social cohesion among residents. The Men’s Division final saw Dhadimagu Sports and Recreation Club of Fuvahmulah defeat the Rathafandhoo Volleyball Team 3–2 to claim the championship title.
Following the match, the Vice President presented trophies and medals to the winning team and awarded individual honours, including highest-scoring player, best player of the tournament, and the title of “King of Beefaan.” The Beefaan 2026 Volleyball Tournament was initiated by the GDh. Fiyoaree Council and organised by FACE. On Thursday evening, Fuvahmulah’s Ekuveri Funaad Team won the Women’s Division Championship.
During the closing ceremony, the Vice President was also presented with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his continued support for the association.
