Roadha Hadhiyaa distribution begins with over 4,000 canned tuna cases

The Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works has reported that 4,196 cases of canned tuna were distributed to households last night under the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme.
Distribution took place between 8:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. across 15 centres in the Greater Malé Region. The highest number of cases was issued from the centre located at the National Stadium, where 783 cases were distributed.
Under the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme, a total of 118,673 households nationwide are set to receive canned tuna cases. This includes 56,918 households in the atolls and 61,755 households in the Malé area.
Tokens for collection have been issued through the Roadha Hadhiyaa portal since 22 January, with distribution scheduled to continue until 11 February.
In 2024, the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme provided each household with 10 kilograms of basmati rice and 10 kilograms of flour. In 2025, the Government distributed a total of 111,231 cases of canned tuna under the initiative.
