President conveys Australia Day and Republic Day greetings to Australia and India

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed greetings and best wishes to the Governments and people of Australia and India on the occasions of Australia Day and India’s 77th Republic Day, reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to maintaining close and cooperative relations with both countries.

In a message shared on X, President Dr Muizzu extended felicitations to Governor-General Sam Mostyn and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, as well as to the Australian Government and people. He described Australia as a valued development partner of the Maldives and expressed wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the country and its people.

In a separate message marking India’s Republic Day, the President conveyed warm greetings to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Government and the people of India. He noted that Republic Day represents India’s enduring commitment to the principles of freedom, democracy and good governance.

President Dr Muizzu highlighted the long-standing and close ties between the Maldives and India, stating that cooperation between the two countries has brought significant benefits to their peoples. He expressed hope for continued collaboration to further strengthen bilateral relations in the years ahead.
