People’s National Congress (PNC) Parliamentary Group Leader and Council Elections campaign manager Ibrahim Falah has underscored the importance of electing PNC candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel as Malé City Mayor, stressing that it would allow the completion of initiatives launched during President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s tenure as Mayor but currently on hold.

Falah made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of the campaign office for the South Maafannu council candidate and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) candidate.

He reiterated President Dr Muizzu’s earlier point that councilors are not elected to hold the government accountable, but rather to support the Government in implementing projects and delivering services closer to the people.

Highlighting achievements during President Dr Muizzu’s mayorship, Falah recalled that Eid celebrations were held on a grand scale, trees were planted to beautify the city, and parks and public squares were established. He noted that many of these initiatives have stalled under the current Administration, emphasising the need to elect leaders who will revive and sustain such community-focused projects.

Falah concluded by stating that electing councilors who work in alignment with the President’s vision will ultimately benefit the people, ensuring continuity of development and services in Malé.
