Asphalt paving works on the first phase of the Malé North Boduthakurufaanu Magu Road Project have been completed, keeping the project on track for completion by Independence Day.

MTCC said the project has now entered its final phase, with construction of the parking zone, sidewalk paving and cable trench installations on Segments Two and Three progressing steadily and expected to be completed within the coming week. Road marking works and the raising of junction utilities on the two segments are also scheduled to begin this week.

The 830-metre road redevelopment project is designed to improve traffic flow by widening Boduthakurufaanu Magu while increasing parking capacity for offices, banks and businesses along the corridor. Once completed, the project is expected to further ease congestion in the area.
