President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to students, teachers, parents, and administrators as the new academic year 2026 begins. 

In his message, the President described teaching and learning as both a religious and national responsibility and underscored the importance of education in shaping strong, active children who love their faith and country.

He expressed hope that the nation will be blessed with the good fortune to further strengthen and develop the education system, raising intelligent, well-mannered children through Maldivian institutions.

The President emphasised that prioritising education and upbringing is key to raising future generations who will contribute positively to society and uphold national values.

Schools across the Maldives are prepared to welcome students back to classrooms. This year, over 77,000 students are enrolled in public schools, supported by more than 10,500 teachers dedicated to providing quality education nationwide.
