President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) on winning the gold medal at the Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition, describing the achievement as a source of pride for the nation and the Maldivian military.

The President conveyed his congratulations in a post shared on social media, noting that the Pakistan Army Team Spirit Competition is an annual international military exercise that brings together teams from multiple countries to assess military skills, discipline, endurance, leadership and teamwork under demanding operational conditions. 

This year’s competition featured 24 teams from 16 countries. Fifteen personnel from the MNDF Special Forces represented the Maldives at the competition, which was held at Pakistan’s National Counter Terrorism Centre from 5 to 7 Febaruary.

Strengthening the operational capacity and preparedness of the MNDF remains a priority of the Government, with continued focus on training and professional development to enhance the force’s ability to respond to evolving security challenges.
