President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has congratulated Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Tarique Rahman on the party’s victory in Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Elections.

In a message shared on social media, the President extended warm congratulations to Rahman and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) following what he described as a remarkable electoral victory.

President Dr Muizzu conveyed his best wishes and expressed his readiness to work closely with the new leadership to further strengthen ties between the Maldives and Bangladesh. He noted that the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to advance in the years ahead.

The 13th National Parliamentary Elections in Bangladesh were held to elect members to the Jatiya Sangsad, the country’s unicameral parliament. The polls drew significant public and international attention, with major political parties contesting seats across the country.
