Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel has arrived in Germany to participate in the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

The conference, being held in Munich from 13 to 15 February, is regarded as one of the leading global forums on international security policy. More than 1,000 delegates from over 120 countries are expected to attend this year’s gathering, including nearly 50 Heads of State and Government who have already confirmed their participation.

As a premier platform for high-level dialogue, MSC 2026 will facilitate discussions on key foreign and security policy challenges facing the international community. The conference brings together world leaders, ministers, policymakers and experts to deliberate on issues related to global peace, stability and cooperation.

During his visit, Dr Khaleel will represent the Maldives at the high-level meeting focused on international peace and security. The Foreign Ministry stated that the conference provides an opportunity to strengthen engagement with like-minded countries and enhance cooperation on shared priorities. The Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings aimed at further deepening diplomatic relations with participating states.

Dr Khaleel’s participation in the Munich Security Conference follows the recent official visit of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu to Germany. The President has since concluded his visit and returned to the Maldives
