President presents highest sporting accolades at Maldives Sports Awards 2025

The Maldives Sports Awards 2025, regarded as the country’s highest platform for sporting recognition, was held this evening at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE), where President Dr Mohamed Muizzu presented the most prestigious accolades of the night.

A total of 79 individuals were honoured across 12 categories, in recognition of performances and contributions recorded in 2024. The ceremony was organised by the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

The President conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award on Moosa Manik and Mohamed Nadeem, acknowledging their longstanding service to national sport. He also presented the Sportswoman of the Year and Sportsman of the Year titles in both Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines.

Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef presented several awards during the ceremony, while First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also participated in the presentations.

The Maldives Sports Awards recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of sport in the country. The Administration has identified the advancement of sport as a key national priority.
