The Ramadan Iftar Distribution in Maldives programme of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia was officially inaugurated in the Maldives on Saturday.

A delegation from Saudi Arabia has arrived in the Maldives to oversee the implementation of the programme. Following the official ceremony held at 5:30 p.m., iftar services commenced at the Islamic Centre.

Under the initiative, arrangements have been made to provide iftar meals to 150 people each day throughout Ramadan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Dr Shaheem said that beyond the provision of iftar meals, both countries are exploring additional joint initiatives. He stated that such efforts would contribute to further strengthening the longstanding ties between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.

He added that the programme reflects the close relationship between the two nations and supports the continued enhancement of bilateral cooperation.
