Sheikh Rahma bint Abdulrahman Alshamsi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Maldives, paid a farewell call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday morning at the President’s Office.
During the meeting, President Dr Muizzu conveyed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s contributions during her tenure, noting the steady progress made in strengthening cooperation between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates. He highlighted the close partnership shared by the two countries across various sectors.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to continuing strong collaboration with the government of the United Arab Emirates and expressed confidence that bilateral ties would continue to advance in the coming months.
Ambassador Alshamsi, in his remarks, commended the development progress achieved in the Maldives under the current Administration and acknowledged the ongoing cooperation between the two nations.
The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their shared resolve to further deepen the longstanding friendship and partnership between the Maldives and the UAE.
The Maldives and the United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations on 15 March 1978.
