The Maldives will host a Maldivian Night event and convene an international media briefing during ITB Berlin 2026, as part of its official participation in the global travel trade fair to be held in Berlin from 3 to 5 March.
Visit Maldives Corporation confirmed that the country will take part in the exhibition with a national pavilion and a series of industry engagement activities. The Maldivian Night, which will be held as a closed, invitation-only gathering, is scheduled to bring together international tour operators, airline partners, travel trade executives, media representatives and other tourism stakeholders.
The event will be organised in partnership with Bank of Maldives. During the gathering, Bank of Maldives is set to introduce BML Swipe, a digital payment solution intended to support transaction services within the tourism sector.
In addition to the networking event, Visit Maldives will host a dedicated international press conference during the exhibition. The corporation said the session will include an announcement related to upcoming tourism initiatives, although specific details of the announcement have not been disclosed.
The Maldives’ national pavilion at ITB Berlin will feature participation from local tourism industry stakeholders, with Visit Maldives using the exhibition as a platform to engage with international travel trade partners and promote business-to-business cooperation.
Visit Maldives said European markets remain central to the Maldives’ tourism performance. In 2025, Germany ranked among the Maldives’ leading source markets with 167,822 tourist arrivals, while Switzerland and Austria also featured within the top 15 source markets. The tourism promotion agency noted that ongoing campaigns in Europe focus on key tourism segments including diving, wellness tourism, family travel and sustainability-related experiences.
Visit Maldives said its participation in ITB Berlin 2026 forms part of efforts to maintain international market presence and strengthen engagement with trade partners, as the Maldives prepares for upcoming national tourism initiatives planned for the period leading up to 2027.
