Velana International Airport Terminal 1 --

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has advised passengers travelling to the Middle East to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport, following the temporary closure of airspace over several countries in the region.

In a travel advisory issued on Saturday, MACL urged travellers to verify flight details directly through their airline’s official website or mobile application and to contact their tour operators for the latest guidance, including any changes to schedules or rebooking arrangements.

Passengers were also encouraged to allow additional time for necessary travel arrangements during the disruption.

For real-time flight information, travellers may visit fis.com.mv, the airport’s flight information system.

MACL reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining uninterrupted and efficient services at Velana International Airport and expressed appreciation for passengers’ understanding, patience and cooperation during what it described as an extraordinary circumstance.
