President Dr Mohamed Muizzu joined the People’s National Congress (PNC) door-to-door campaign in North Maafannu on Monday as part of efforts to support party candidates contesting the upcoming April 4 Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

President Dr Muizzu visited the area after the afternoon prayer, where a large number of residents gathered to welcome him. He greeted those present and spoke with residents while inquiring about their concerns and wellbeing.

During the campaign, President Dr Muizzu visited several homes in the neighbourhood and met with families, listening to issues raised by residents. 

President Dr Muizzu previously conducted regular visits to households across Malé City during his tenure as Mayor of Malé City, meeting residents weekly under a scheduled programme. He has continued engaging with residents during his presidency, meeting people in the Greater Malé area as well as in the atolls to listen to their concerns.

The President has also been actively campaigning in support of PNC candidates contesting the upcoming Local Council and WDC elections. The party stated that his engagement in the campaign reflects the importance placed on the decentralisation system.
