Member of Parliament for the Baarah constituency, Ibrahim Shujau, has announced that comprehensive maintenance and infrastructure repair projects in South Hulhumalé are scheduled to begin this Sunday.

Speaking at the inauguration of the People’s National Congress (PNC) campaign office for the South Hulhumalé constituency on Thursday night, Shujau confirmed that the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has been officially tasked with executing the work.

The initiative primarily targets long-standing issues within the 704 flat area, which was originally developed with financing from the Exim Bank of China and completed in early 2018.

Planned improvements include the repair of damaged pavement blocks, the restoration of street lighting in poorly lit areas, and general housing maintenance to alleviate the difficulties faced by local residents.

MP Shujau emphasised that the work will be carried out in a manner that ensures the concerns of all residents in the area are addressed.
