Supporters of the People’s National Congress (PNC) held a motorcycle rally in Malé City on Friday as part of the party's campaign for the upcoming Local Council and Women’s Development Committee elections.
The event began at the Maafannu Marybrown area and ended at the PNC party office in Henveiru.
Addressing the crowd at the conclusion of the rally, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu stated that his Administration does not support policies that weaken or undermine the authority of local councils.
The President urged voters to elect PNC candidates to city councils, island councils and Women’s Development Committees, stating that doing so would help advance Government development projects.
The rally was attended by Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Speaker of the People’s Majlis Abdul Raheem Abdulla, and several Cabinet ministers. Members of Parliament and party leadership were also present.
