President Dr Mohamed Muizzu took part in People’s National Congress (PNC) door-to-door campaign in the North Hulhumalé constituency as part of activities ahead of the Local Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) elections.

During the visit, the President met residents living in Hiyaa flats in Hulhumalé phase II, speaking with families and inquiring about their well-being. He also listened to concerns raised by residents and shared the Administration’s development priorities. The President also met members of the public on the streets during the visit and assured residents that the Government would work to address the issues raised by the community.

While in the constituency, the President inspected the final stage of the lift installation project at the Hiyaa Towers, which is being carried out to improve living conditions for residents of the housing complex.

The campaign event was attended by Malé City mayoral candidate Major (Rtd) Moosa Ali Jaleel, Malé area WDC presidential candidate Ashiyath Alaika Adnan, and other candidates contesting seats in the constituency. Cabinet ministers and senior members of the party’s leadership also took part in the campaign activities.

The PNC continues to conduct campaign activities nationwide ahead of the elections. So far, the party has secured several uncontested seats, including 28 council seats and 41 Women’s Development Committee seats, bringing the total to 69 seats won without a vote. Local council and Women’s Development Committee elections are scheduled to be held on 4 April.
