President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended Independence Day greetings to the leadership and people of Bangladesh on the occasion of the country’s 55th anniversary of independence, reaffirming continued cooperation between the two countries.
In separate messages to President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the President noted that this year also marks 48 years since diplomatic relations were established between the Maldives and Bangladesh, highlighting the steady growth of ties through bilateral engagement and people-to-people exchanges.
He also acknowledged Bangladesh’s continued support to the Maldives across key sectors including trade, health, education and human development, noting that such cooperation has contributed to national development efforts and strengthened overall relations between the two countries.
The President further emphasised the importance of maintaining close collaboration to support regional peace and stability, while expressing confidence that the existing partnership would continue to expand in the years ahead.
In a post shared on X, President Dr Muizzu also conveyed his greetings, describing Bangladesh as a trusted partner and noting that the occasion reflects the country’s progress and future aspirations.
