The Ministry of Education has provided essential equipment within 36 hours to ensure continuity of classes at the Gaafu Atoll Education Centre following the recent fire incident.
The school confirmed that 10 computer systems, three printers and 15 boxes of textbooks have been dispatched via air cargo to support ongoing teaching and learning activities.
The ministry has assured that classes will resume before Monday, in line with the commitment made by Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu, as efforts continue to restore normal operations at the school.
The fire, which broke out earlier this week, destroyed one of the school’s buildings, including the primary teachers’ staff room, printing room and a classroom. Following the incident, measures were initiated to replace essential equipment and facilitate the continuation of academic activities without disruption.
The minister had earlier stated that arrangements were being made to ensure students could return to classes as scheduled, while also expressing gratitude to residents of Villingili and others who assisted in bringing the fire under control.
