Three Maldivian swimmers have achieved a historic milestone by setting new national records at the ongoing World Aquatics Swimming Championship (25m) in Hungary.

National swimmers Mohamed Aan Hussain, Mohamed Rihan Shiham, and Hamna Ahmed demonstrated exceptional performances in their respective events, marking a proud moment for the Maldives in competitive swimming.

In the men's short course 100m freestyle event, Aan broke his own national record with a time of 00:52.29, surpassing his previous record of 00:53.45, which he set last month at Hungary's 20th National Short Track Championship.

Hamna delivered an impressive performance in the women's short course 100m breaststroke event, setting a new national record of 01:20.69. She improved on her previous national record of 01:22.65, also achieved at the 20th National Short Track Championship.

In the men's short course 200m butterfly event, Rihan established a new national record with a timing of 02:17.93. He outpaced his previous national record of 02:21.75, which he recorded at the Asian Open Schools Invitational Short Course (25m) Age Group Swimming Championships in October.

Representing the Maldives alongside her teammates, Meral Ain Latheef continues to display exceptional skill at the WASC.
