Housing units in Baa Thulhaadhoo --

The Government has extended the deadline for applications to 100 housing units developed in Baa Thulhaadhoo and ThaaVilufushi, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced.

The opportunity to apply for these housing units was initially opened on 11 January this year. Although the original deadline has now passed, the Ministry has confirmed that the application period has been extended until the 30th of this month.

Applications for the housing units can be submitted through the “Hiyaavahi Portal”, an online platform designated for the programme. The project is part of the Government’s efforts to address housing challenges faced by residents of Thulhaadhoo and Vilufushi, aiming to provide practical and long-term solutions.

The Ministry has stated that demand for the units has been significant. To date, 206 applications have been received for the 100 housing units in Vilufushi, while 347 applications have been submitted for the 100 units in Thulhaadhoo.

Housing and infrastructure development remain a key priority of the current Administration. In line with this, the deadline for applications under the “Housing for All” housing scheme in the Greater Malé area has also been extended to the 30th of this month.

The Government stated that the extension of these deadlines is intended to ensure that a greater number of citizens are able to benefit from the opportunity to apply for housing.
