Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Heena Waleed, has stated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s weekly press briefings with journalists will continue to be conducted in line with the framework announced earlier this year.

In a post shared on X, Heena noted that the briefings, which were scheduled to commence from 1 March 2026, will proceed in accordance with the guidelines outlined during the Presidential Address.

During Presidential Address 2026, President Dr Muizzu said the initiative was aimed at strengthening engagement with the media and providing information directly to the public. He announced that he would meet journalists every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. under a structured arrangement.

The President also stated that adjustments to the schedule may be made in cases of official travel, public holidays, or other unforeseen circumstances, but indicated that the briefings would otherwise continue as planned.

Heena further confirmed that the meetings with journalists will continue in the coming weeks in line with this framework.
