Ali Arif steps down as Minister at President’s Office

Ali Arif has resigned from his position as Minister at the President’s Office for Presidential Affairs.

Ali Arif entered politics in 2009, first serving as a Member of Parliament for Vaikaradhoo constituency. He was later elected to the People’s Majlis from Kelaa constituency in 2014, where he served two terms.

He joined Jumhooree Party in 2019 and went on to hold several senior positions within the party. During the 2023 presidential election, he endorsed President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Spokesperson at the President’s Office, Heena Waleed, confirmed the resignation. Further details regarding his resignation or a successor have not yet been announced.
