The President’s Office has rejected a report by Adhadhu which claimed that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu admitted to facilitating employment in a manner that could enable corruption.

In a statement, Chief Government Spokesperson Mohamed Hussain Shareef said the report misrepresented remarks made by the President during a recent press conference.

Providing further details, the statement highlighted that Adhadhu's article grossly misinterpreted the question posed to the President by another media outlet, as well as the President’s response to the question.

The statement added that both the headline and the content of the report were inconsistent with the context of the President’s comments, stressing the importance of accurate and responsible reporting.

The President’s Office further noted that clarification would be provided on the matter, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and factual communication.
