The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments has announced the commencement of the distribution of 50 tonnes of dates donated to the Maldives by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.

In the Greater Malé Area, the distribution is being carried out at the Islamic Centre hall under the Ministry's supervision. In Malé, dates will be distributed daily from today until 14 May, between 09:30 am and 1:00 pm.

For households in Malé, Hulhumalé, and Vilimalé, dates will be provided upon verification of the household address, electricity meter number, and the Maldivian national identity card of the person collecting the dates.

In other cities and islands, distribution will be managed through the respective city and island councils.

According to the Ministry, each household will receive one packet of dates, subject to available stock. Allocations have been set at 50 packets per 100 households in each area.

The Ministry stated that the initiative reflects the continued support and solidarity extended to the people of the Maldives.
