President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that strengthening the social fabric of a nation must begin with building strong and resilient families.
In a post shared on X to commemorate International Day of Families, observed annually on May 15, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the importance of family bonds and the role families play in shaping society.
He stated that parents form the foundation of a family, adding that after Principle of Tawhid, one of the highest priorities in Islam is showing kindness and obedience to parents. He said this reflects the great importance and respect Islam places on the institution of family.
The President further stated that the blood bond created through family ties is one that can never be broken, emphasising that efforts to strengthen society and national values must begin through the development of strong family structures.
Concluding his message, President Dr Muizzu wished for all Maldivian citizens to be blessed with happy lives filled with family love and care.
