Judicial Service Commission Vice-President Yazmeed Mohamed has resigned from his position.
Yazmeed served on the commission as the President’s representative and was elected as vice-president of the JSC on October 23, 2025.
He previously contested the 20th parliamentary elections for the Villingili constituency on the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) ticket. The seat was won by independent candidate Azim Abdul Aziz, who later joined the PNC.
Yazmeed was appointed as JSC vice-president following the resignation of High Court Judge Mohamed Niyaz from the post.
The current members of the JSC include Chairperson Husnee Mubarik, Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Supreme Court Judge Hussain Shaheed, High Court Judge Hassan Shafeeu, lower court representative Farhad Rasheed, parliamentary public representative Idhris Fauzy, Civil Service Commission Chairperson Mohamed Mujthaz and lawyer representative Ali Abdul Latheef.
