The Elections Commission (EC) has announced that three ballot boxes will be placed for the Dhaalu Meedhoo Council president re-election scheduled for next month.

The commission said details of the ballot boxes assigned for the re-election under the 2026 Local Council Elections have been published, including ballot box numbers, codes, polling areas and locations.

Two ballot boxes will be placed in Meedhoo for voters registered on the island, with both polling stations to be set up at Dhaalu Atoll School.

A third ballot box will be placed in Malé for Dhaalu Meedhoo residents registered to vote in the capital. The polling station will be located at the library of Dharumavantha School’s southern building.

The EC said voting will take place on Saturday, 13 June, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Dhaalu Meedhoo Council president election emerged as one of the closest and most contested races in the April Local Council polls.
