Bhutan's Non-Resident Ambassador to the Maldives, Dasho Karma Hamu Dorjee, presented her Letter of Credence to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today. A traditional Haiykolhu procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band, escorted the ambassador to the President's Office.

President Dr Muizzu and Ambassador Dorjee later discussed cooperation in tourism and the exchange of expertise in hospitality. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation between the Maldives and Bhutan. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 13 July 1984.
