Maldives has been shortlisted in two categories at the prestigious Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards, organised by the UK-based Wanderlust travel magazine.

The island nation is competing for the titles of ‘Most Desirable Country’ and ‘Most Desirable Island(s)’. The annual awards, which celebrate global tourism excellence, are widely followed by British travellers.

Public voting is now open and will close on October 27, 2025. Votes can be submitted via the Wanderlust Travel Awards website, with eligibility requiring participants to follow Wanderlust on Instagram or Facebook.

This year’s awards are expected to draw more than 200,000 votes. Winners will be announced later this year during a ceremony held alongside the World Travel Market Fair in the United Kingdom.
