Four major development projects have been inaugurated in Noonu Fodhdhoo as part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing tour of Noonu Atoll.

The projects include the construction of a new police station, a fitness and recreation centre, a harbour development project, and the upgrading of the island’s health centre.

The President began the day by attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the Fodhdhoo Police Station. The foundation stone was laid by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, in the presence of Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen and Fodhdhoo Council President Mohamed Moosa.

Following this, the foundation stone for the island’s new Fitness and Recreation Centre was laid by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Abdullah Rafiu.

The harbour development project was inaugurated by Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Abdulla Muththalib, accompanied by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Managing Director and retired Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Saudhee. The project has been contracted to MTCC.

President Dr Muizzu also attended the inauguration of the new Fodhdhoo Health Centre, which is expected to have an 18-bed capacity and be equipped with essential medical facilities. The project, also awarded to MTCC, was officiated by Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim.

These projects reflect the Government’s continued efforts to boost infrastructure, healthcare, and public services across the country’s inhabited islands.
