President Dr Mohamed Muizzu presented the National Award for Public Service to 94 recipients during the official Independence Day function held this morning at the Social Centre.
The recipients were honoured with commemorative shields and badges in recognition of their long-term service to the State.
Introduced by the President, the award celebrates individuals who have served the State for over 35 years, recognising their competence, integrity, and commitment to their roles, as well as their contributions to their respective institutions.
All those honoured at today’s ceremony have dedicated more than 40 years to public service. Individuals with 35 to 39 years of service are scheduled to receive the award at the upcoming Republic Day function.
The National Awards Committee is responsible for vetting and selecting recipients for this State honour.
In his remarks at the ceremony, the President extended his congratulations and appreciation to all awardees for their exemplary service to the State.
