President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that all individuals who were allocated land under previous governments will receive their plots, noting that many of the lands previously granted were located in lagoons that had not yet been dredged.

The President made the remarks during a meeting with residents of Mahchangolhi at Aminiya School on Tuesday night, where land and housing issues dominated public questions.

Responding to concerns, President Dr Muizzu said his Administration is working to complete the dredging and development of areas such as Hulhumalé Phase III, Giraavaru Falhu, and Gulhifalhu before handing over the land.

He explained that while some dredged land had already been issued earlier, large sections of the allocated plots remained in undredged lagoons, delaying the handover process. The President emphasised that all beneficiaries will eventually receive their allotted land once the reclamation work is completed.

President Dr Muizzu also stated that dredging of the deep areas of Gulhifalhu and the Uthuru Thilafalhu zone will begin soon.

On housing, he noted that flat allocations are proceeding according to the official list, with Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) overseeing the process. The President said the Administration aims to hand over completed units by the end of December and ensure families are settled in their flats before the start of the new academic year.
