Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Harini Amarasuriya, paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today during his ongoing State Visit.

During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and explored new avenues for cooperation in key sectors, including tourism, healthcare, education, vocational training, and broader socio-economic development.

President Dr Muizzu also commended the Sri Lankan government’s efforts to recover from recent socio-economic challenges. The two leaders further highlighted the contributions of the Sri Lankan community in the Maldives to national development, as well as the role of the Maldivian community in supporting Sri Lanka’s development.

President Dr Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed are currently undertaking a State Visit to Sri Lanka from May 3 to 6 at the invitation of President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.
