President and First Lady extend Day of Arafah greetings

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed have conveyed greetings and prayers to the Maldivians and the wider Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Day of Arafah.
In a message shared on X, President Dr Muizzu described the Day of Arafah as a day of blessings, mercy, forgiveness and acceptance, while extending well wishes to all Maldivians. His message also included the words of Talbiyah traditionally recited during Hajj.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a message on X, conveying greetings to Maldivian pilgrims performing Hajj and praying for the blessings and compassion of the holy occasion to be bestowed upon all Maldivians and the wider Islamic community.
The Day of Arafah is regarded as one of the most significant days in the Islamic calendar. Pilgrims performing Hajj gather at Arafat on the day for prayer, supplication and worship until sunset. Muslims unable to perform Hajj are encouraged to fast on the Day of Arafah.
