President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed Independence Day greetings to Azerbaijan, expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of ties between the two countries.

In a message shared on X, the President extended congratulations to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Ali Asadov, and the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

President Dr Muizzu noted that Azerbaijan has made significant progress since gaining independence and has continued its development in line with the aspirations of its people.

He also expressed hope for a bright future for Azerbaijan and highlighted the growing bilateral engagement between the Maldives and Azerbaijan in recent years.

The President also stated that discussions between the two countries have explored opportunities to expand trade, commerce and people-to-people ties, adding that he was pleased with the progress achieved in strengthening cooperation in these areas and beyond.
