The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has seized a package of suspected drugs that was being smuggled into Maafushi Prison using a drone.

The items were recovered during a joint operation carried out at 12:45 am on Tuesday by Maafushi Prison, Maafushi Police Station, and the Counter Narcotics Intelligence unit.

Five rubber packets containing suspected drugs, with a provisional weight of 395.92 grams, were seized during the operation. No arrests were made.

The case is currently under investigation.
