The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced that a fireworks display will be held tonight off the coast of Vilimalé to celebrate Eid al-Adha.

In a statement, MNDF said the display is scheduled to take place between 9:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. and is expected to last approximately five minutes.

The fireworks show comes as Eid al-Adha is being celebrated across the country with a variety of community events and family activities. In the Greater Malé Region, security forces and State-owned companies have organised special programmes featuring games, entertainment and interactive activities for children and families throughout the Eid holidays.
