The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has resumed operations of its call centre for housing schemes following the Eid al-Adha holidays.

The call centre, established to provide information and assistance on Government housing policies and housing-related services, had temporarily suspended operations during the holiday period.

The Ministry stated that the service is now available from Sunday to Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Information Desk services have also resumed and will be available on the same days from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Ministry has continued to receive inquiries from individuals seeking information on ongoing housing schemes, particularly those applying for land plots and flats under the Government's housing programme.

Many applicants encountered difficulties completing required documentation and submitting applications within the original timeframe due to the Eid holidays and the temporary closure of Government offices.

As a result, the Government has extended the deadline for applications to the land and flat schemes. While applications were initially scheduled to close at the end of this month, submissions will now be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on the 15th of next month.

The housing schemes were introduced under the Government's "Housing for All" policy, which sets out the framework and eligibility criteria for the allocation of land plots and housing units.

Under the initiative, the Government plans to allocate 15,000 land plots, including in Greater Malé and Rasmalé, as well as 7,900 flats across the Greater Malé Region.
