The Non-Resident Ambassador of France to the Maldives, Rémi Lambert, has presented his credentials to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held at the President's Office. Following the presentation, the President and Ambassador discussed areas of mutual interest, including tourism, maritime cooperation, marine protection, climate change, and security and stability, while reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening relations between the Maldives and France.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and France were established on 20 May 1969. The ambassador was accorded a traditional Haiykolhu procession accompanied by the MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band before formally presenting his credentials.
