Minister of Climate Change, Environment, and Energy, Thoriq Ibrahim, underscored the pivotal role of academic research in driving national development during the inauguration ceremony for the first issue of the Maldives Journal of Engineering and Technology (MJET).

Taking to X, Minister Thoriq emphasised that fostering innovation and advancing knowledge through academic initiatives like MJET is essential for addressing national challenges and achieving sustainable progress.

The launch event, held at the Maldives National University (MNU), marked a milestone in academic publishing, with MJET positioned as an open-access, peer-reviewed platform dedicated to research in engineering and technology.

MJET aims to contribute to the advancement of engineering and technological sciences while offering a platform for scholars to share findings that can inform policy and practical solutions.
