President appoints Mohamed Hussain Shareef as Chief Government Spokesperson

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Mohamed Hussain Shareef as Chief Government Spokesperson at the President’s Office, with ministerial rank.
Mohamed Hussain Shareef brings extensive experience in public service and diplomacy. He has previously served as a member of the People’s Majlis and has held several ambassadorial postings representing the Maldives in various countries.
He has also held key communications roles at the President’s Office, serving as Chief Government Spokesman from 2005 to 2007 and as Presidential Spokesperson from 2007 to 2008. In addition, he played a significant role in the establishment and early work of the Strategic Communications Unit at the President’s Office.
Most recently, he served as the Maldives’ Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
The appointment underscores the Administration’s focus on strengthening strategic communications and public engagement at the highest levels of Government.
