The Maldives Meteorological Service(MET) has issued a general weather and marine forecast , valid from 10:00 am on December 18, 2024 to 10:00 am on December 19, 2024.

Unsettled conditions are expected, with scattered showers, heavy rain, and thunderstorms likely throughout the period.

Winds will be southwest to westerly, ranging between 13 and 23 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching 40 mph during showers. Sea conditions are forecast to be rough, with wave heights between 4 and 7 feet, prompting warnings for caution in marine activities.

Over the coming days, temperatures are forecast to remain steady at around 29°C to 30°C. Cloud cover, accompanied by thunderstorms and showers, is likely to persist in Hulhulé and other areas such as Hanimaadhoo, Kadhdhoo, Kaadedhdhoo, and Gan.

Residents and travellers are advised to remain cautious due to the risk of heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas, particularly during periods of intense weather activity.
