President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that addressing the longstanding parking shortage will be a key priority under the redevelopment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu.

Speaking during the second episode of the Nation Chat programme on Thursday night, the President said the project is one of the Government's major infrastructure priorities and is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and parking facilities in the capital.

President Dr Muizzu said he had first initiated plans to redevelop Boduthakurufaanu Magu during his tenure as Housing Minister, although the project was not implemented at the time.

Highlighting the progress made under the current Administration, the President said the completed project will ease congestion along the road while providing additional parking spaces.

He added that the Government is giving special attention to resolving the parking difficulties faced in Malé City, noting that the current phase of the redevelopment will provide parking facilities for offices and banks located in the area.

The redevelopment of Boduthakurufaanu Magu is expected to improve traffic movement and enhance transport infrastructure in one of the capital's busiest corridors.
