The Maldives Police Service has launched a criminal investigation into alleged corruption within the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

In a statement issued to the media, the police revealed that it had emerged HDC had improperly allotted plots of land to individuals who were not eligible under the Binveriya Scheme.
